Most of the books in the library are arranged by Library of Congress call numbers. Call numbers correspond to the subject of the book and are composed of letters and numbers. Think of a call number as an address to where a book is shelved in the library. Because call numbers are assigned by subject, books on the same subject are shelved in the same area.
