Introduction
to Microsoft Frontpage Microsoft
FrontPage enables you to design, create, edit, save, and publish your own web sites. A web site is a collection of individual pages that
are linked to one another. Each of these linked pages is known as a web
page. The word Web (upper case W) derives from the phrase World Wide Web
(WWW), the "branch" of the Internet that has become most popular. This
popularity is a result of the Web's ability to support extensive use of different media
types including: drawings, photos, animations, movies, and sounds, as well as hyperlinks. Hyperlinks are specially highlighted
text or graphics that point to information from other locations on the Web.

Frontpage consits of three primary tools:
- FrontPage Explorer--
enables you to create, manage, and delete entire web sites.
- FrontPage Editor--
works like a word processor, enabling you to create and manage web pages.
- Personal Web Server-- operates behind the
scenes, enabling you to create, test, and store webs before they are published.
