What is a Topology?

Definition:

The arrangement of the nodes and connecting hardware that comprises the network.

In a general sense, a topology is simply a description of how a type of system is physically arranged. A network topology relates to the manner in which a communication's system is arranged. It will show the logical and physical connections of computers.
