The only criticism I have with these techniques is the underlying
assumption: that any and all robots misbehaving in the manner described are
"deliberately misconfigured." Yes, in most cases it is a good idea to
block access to the HTTP server by the misbehaving robot, but it would also
be a good idea to attempt to contact the person running the robot, in case
it is simply a matter of a bad bug run amok.

And, yes, in a perfect world, programmers of robots would never make
mistakes. :-)
