This is probably also driven by people changing their e-mail addresses in
order to escape from the piles of junk mail generated by, hmm, let me
think... maybe robots that unintelligently compile huge lists of addresses?

These sorts of robots should at least have some heuristics to determine the
contexts under which the addresses are meaningful.
