SpamBots

It just so happens that as this thread was going on, I had to deal with
a SpamBot (see below).

Noting that the return address was "post1.com", I visited:
http://rs.internic.net/cgi-bin/whois, typed in the domain and came up
with:

Singapore Press Holdings (POST7-DOM)
82 Genting Lane, News Centre
Singapore, Singapore 349567
SG

Domain Name: POST1.COM

Administrative Contact:
Au-Yong, Karen (KA620) kauyong@CYBERWAY.COM.SG
(65) 7401477 (FAX) (65) 8422902
Technical Contact, Zone Contact:
Chung, Angelia (AC1269) angie@ASIA1.COM.SG
(65) 7401719 (FAX) (65) 8422902

So I went up the food chain and complained to root at the various
domains. I went back and looked at some other spam I had received and
realized that it came from the same source since the domain matched that
of the Admin contact above. But what confuses me is the connection to
our favorite anarchist:

HipCrime International (HIPCRIME-DOM)
666 First Street at Arguello
San Francisco, CA 94122

Domain Name: HIPCRIME.COM

Administrative Contact:
Robert, Returned (RR1563) robert@HIPCRIME.COM
none given (FAX) none taken
Technical Contact, Zone Contact:
Whitall, James (JW3426) hipcrime@POST1.COM
none given (FAX) none taken

Note the domain of the technical contact? ... The plot thickens...

If that isn't weird enough, check this out from the Post One Acceptable
Use Policy (http://www.post1.com/about/puse.html):

1.This free service is a privilege and not a right. Spamming is an
abuse of this privilege.

2.We reserve the right to remove mass mail of an advertising nature.

?????????!!!!!

Anyway, note the sociopathic justification for spamming me below? ...
Yeah, right. Maybe I'll train one of my droids on him and flood him
with *my* views of the world. Heh-heh-heh...

Please remove me from the list your SPAMBOT has apparently generated.
SPAMBOT's are consider a bad thing by most and usually end up alienating
the clients who use them. I've also received a junk e-mail referring
to: http://www.cyberway.com.sg/~icepoint/.
